Programs

The Darien Park District prides itself on offering a well-rounded, diverse selection of recreational programs, activities & special events. We make every effort to offer new programs based on current trends & participant interests.

Programs are offered under the categories of Early Childhood, typically ages 1 thru 4, Youth ages 4-11, Teen ages 11-17, Adult ages 18 & older and Prime Timers, our older adults. We distribute three brochures a year. Winter is mailed the week of Thanksgiving advertising programs beginning December thru April. Summer is delivered the last week in March advertising programs beginning April thru August. Fall is delivered the first week in August advertising programs beginning September thru December.

For the most part, all programs are available to residents as well as non-residents. Residents are always given the first opportunity to register for programs. On occasion, there may be programs or special events open to residents only.

When a program is full, we will attempt to open additional classes, to accommodate those on the wait list. This is subject to instructor & space availability. We encourage anyone interested in a program to not wait until the last minute to sign up to avoid being disappointed if the class is already full.

Any participant requiring special accommodations in order to participate in a program should notify the park district of their needs in advance of the start of the program so arrangements can be made with SEASPAR for assistance.
